The 7 tips to keep your intimate care

A healthy vagina is presented with a balanced rate of acids and bacteria to combat infections and restore the normal pH of the vaginal flora. To preserve this good vaginal health, however, some hygiene measures are necessary. In fact, women, unlike men, owe it to an intimate hygiene that is impeccable to prevent various infections and vaginal diseases. Therefore, to maintain your health in your genital area, discover 7 simple tips to preserve your personal hygiene!

The 7 tips to keep your intimate care

Avoid rinses

The normal pH of the vagina is 4.5. However, it is altered by rinses as it reduces the acidity and contributes to the appearance of bacteria. In fact, when the flora is eliminated by an intimate inner wash, the vagina becomes the gateway for germs and aggressive infections.

Limit or eliminate certain foods

Diet plays a key role in overall health. This also applies to vaginal health. The latter is threatened by the consumption of certain foods such as white bread, sugar and red meat. Also avoid the consumption of trans fatty acids, which are included in cakes, processed foods, biscuits and chips.

Avoid intimate shower gels

In a way, we can say that the vagina is self-cleaning thanks to its flora, which contains good bacteria. Therefore, cleaning the inside of your private area with intimate bath gel or soap is aggressive. This type of cleanser dries sensitive skin around the vulva and weakens the protective vaginal flora.

Eating healthy

Just as some foods have to flee, others are preferred. In fact, it is necessary to have a varied and balanced diet and to consume at least 1.5 litres of water per day. In addition, foods rich in vitamin E such as broccoli, avocado, green vegetables, seafood, olive oil and hazelnuts, for example, improve the health of the vagina. Cranberry juice is also an ally to combat the first symptoms of urinary tract infections because it contains enzymes to eliminate harmful bacteria during the digestive process.

Limit antibiotics

A normal vaginal flora is characterized by a large bacterial diversity of the Lactobacilli type. However, these important bacteria of the flora are destroyed by the ingestion of antibiotics. Therefore, when dealing with antibiotics, it is important to consume probiotics such as Greek yogurt and kefir, which are considered natural antibiotics. In fact, they eliminate bad bacteria while keeping the good bacteria in the body.

Wear cotton underwear

Get out of synthetic materials, prefer cotton underwear because they absorb moisture and make the skin breathe. In fact, the other materials increase the sweating and multiplication of bacteria.

Respect the correct cleaning path

After bowel movements or after urinating, it should be cleaned with toilet paper or better washed by always going from the front to the back. This prevents bacteria from spreading from the anus to the vagina and reduces the risk of diseases such as cystitis. Some extra precautions should be taken to have good personal hygiene, especially with regard to sexual intercourse. In fact, studies have shown that the use of condoms can protect against sexually transmitted diseases while also keeping good bacteria in the vagina. This reduces the occurrence of yeast, bacterial and urinary tract infections. In addition, after a sexual act, you should go to the bathroom to prevent the spread of microbes in the bladder that cause urinary tract infections.
